Tuesday the 13th of April 2010 was the largest turnout for the Atlanta based Tuesday Night Urban Run Club (TNURC). For the second year the Atlanta Track Club (ATC) has joined up to run the streets of Atlanta making the actual number of runners around 80. The unusually large group stopped along the course for a few photo opps, the State Capital building, Centennial Olympic Park, and the famous Jackson Street Bridge for some of the best shots to prove we circled 4.5 miles around the downtown area of Atlanta.

“The 2010 Urban Run event yesterday evening, with over 65 members from the Urban Run Club, the Atlanta Track Club and their friends and family, all joining together, was a huge success and could not have happened without your leadership and effort. Doubling the turnout from the 2009 inaugural event is a testament to how much fun it is for everyone involved. I am certain that the city of Atlanta, our community, neighbors, run club members, anyone and everyone who knows you are proud and appreciative of what you are doing and what you have accomplished.
Indra you surprised me when you told me before the start of the run that you were nervous. I would have never guessed, and suspect it was only because of the terrific turn-out for the event. You and Fiona are always the picture of grace and leadership. The fact that you felt a bit nervous is only an indication of how much you really care about what you do. And it shows.
The looks, waves, thumbs-up, shouts of appreciation and support from the bystanders, motorists, neighbors, police, business owners and tourists who literally stopped what they were doing to watch and allow the large group to run by were priceless. Where and when do you see drivers give away their right-of-way and happily sit through a traffic light with a smile and wave to boot?!? To see the camaraderie and fun that was shared between the members of the two running groups, all you have to do is look at the event photos.

Actually, I insist that you do so. Your friends and family will be happy to hear about and see the great things that you are accomplishing. Special thanks and credit to Photographer Jason Brewer from TrueSpeedPhoto.
The Atlanta Track Club leadership, staff and competitive team members were impressed with you and the entire Urban Run Club. We know you will keep up the great work!”

In addition to ATC bringing photog Jason Brewer, TNURC invited Shannon McCollum Photography to shoot video. With everything we shared, we hope to inspire everyone to get it moving, join the Urban Run Club, or create your own walk, run, anything active group. Share your race dates and results. And post lots of photos.
